Republic Polytechnic, Friday, January 22, 2010 – The National University of Singapore (NUS) beat the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) 2-1 after a penalty shootout to book their place in the final of the Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Floorball Championship.

The match saw both teams fail to score after regular time. It was the same situation during extra time as both teams looked for the golden goal to avoid leaving the outcome of the match to a shootout. This saw countless attacks from both sides as the five minutes of extra time slowly faded away.

The shootout saw a goal each being ruled out by the officials. NUS suffered an early scare but recovered and eventually won 2-1 due to their excellent goalkeeper and mistakes by the SIM players.

NUS will face NTU in the final that will take place on Monday, January 25, at Republic Poly.
